When life gives you wooly lemons

In recent weeks I have been exchanging emails with a lovely local Aromatherapist, named Anna.

During lockdown Anna found that, like many others, her business suffered due to the impact of lockdown. With the realisation that it might be a little while until things returned to normal, Anna set her sights on her latest business venture, Anaroma.

Anaroma specialises in the creation of homemade products that enable the buyer to bring an element of aromatherapy into the home.

At the moment, the primary focus has been placed on Anna's lemon scented fridge deodorisers. These handmade little wooly lemons are designed to soak up the essential oil that comes with it, and placed in the fridge, leaving your fridge smelling less like the week-old sandwich you keep meaning to eat, and more like delicious zesty lemons, fresh from the trees of Sicily.

I am a big supporter of small businesses, and believe that, especially since lockdown, small independent businesses are the way forward. By buying from an independent seller your product is made with more care, your gifts are more personalised, and the person you are buying from appreciates your order so much more.

Anaroma is still in its very early stages of production, but I am excited to be working alongside Anna as her part time Social Media Manager and Photographer for the business.

This week I met with Anna so we could get started on our first product photoshoot. I went armed with Pinterest board inspiration and set to work filling up my memory card with sunny yellow, lemon hues, ready for the Anaroma social media accounts which I am now ready to set up.

It's clear that Anna is buzzing with different ideas that are going to help her business to blossom, she is just a little unsure on how to share these with the digital world, as this aspect of it is all relatively new to her.

I'm hoping I can work closely with Anna to make her feel more comfortable with the social media platforms we will be using (mainly just Instagram and Facebook for the time being).

I will be back soon with more updates as project progresses, but until then, I wish you all the zest...

Lucy
